Hoffrichter Trend II APAP (Auto CPAP) Machine Package

Overview

The Trend II APAP (Auto CPAP) machine makes for easy respiration and help with a healthy and restful sleep.

The extremely low respiration resistance, the high power reserves and the automatic compensation for leakages and altiudes are only some of the innovative quality characteristics.

The simple operating system leaves nothing to be desired. Three different user menus, an information menu, a patient menu for adjusting the comfort functions and a clinical menu for the optimal customisation of all the therapy parameters, create the simplest operation.

An easy to replace three layers filter which effectively filters the majority of pollen and air pollutants, is a further highlight of the device series.

Within a certain pressure range the device automatically controls the therapy pressure depending on the occurrence of respiratory events. In sleep phases with no events the therapy pressure is lowered. Starting obstructive events are treated effectively with a slight pressure increase. For a high therapy comfort the therapy pressure should always be only as high as necessary and as low as possible.

The device can recognize the following respiratory events: Obstructive apnea, Hypopnea, Central apnea,
Snoring, Normal respiration and Increased airway resistance.

The identification of the different respiratory events is achieved via 3 channels:

1. Measurement of any constriction of the respiratory tract
2. Detection of flow limitations by measuring the flow
3. Detection of snoring with the help of sound detection

The combined analysis of all results facilitates a very precise differentiation between obstructive and central events. The device adjusts the therapy pressure according to the detected events as described below:

• Increase of pressure for obstructive events
• Decrease of pressure for central events and normal respiration

In addition to normal APAP and CPAP mode the device offers the FLEXLINE mode, a pressure increase which is proportionate to the individual respiration flow during inspiration and a pressure decrease during expiration. Detection of different incidents through 3 channels.

Channel 1: Airway constriction.
The device increases the pressure in the case of a significant rise of the airway resistance signal and/or in the case of a rise fluctuations.

Channel 2: Snoring.
The device identifies snoring through acoustic measurement, if this level of snoring exceeds a set threshold in a defined frequency range.

Graph

Channel 3: Flow limitation detection.
The device continuously calculates the respiration volume per minute. A reduction of the respiration volume per minute indicates hypopnea, in addition an absence of change in the flow signal indicates apnea.
